The names on the labels
What PDLLA, PLLA, PCL and CaHA are.
These names are the thicker injectables a clinic uses. They are solid particles mixed into a liquid — not watery solutions — which is why an ordinary needle can clog.
- PDLLA
- Poly-D,L-lactic acid. Polymer particles mixed into a liquid before injection.
- PLLA
- Poly-L-lactic acid. A related polymer, also injected as particles rather than as a simple solution.
- PCL
- Polycaprolactone. Polymer particles carried in a gel or suspension.
- CaHA
- Calcium hydroxylapatite. Mineral particles in a gel carrier.
